P40 Kittyhawk GBP £84.95 inc VAT

Made famous by General Caire Chennault and his volunteers, known as the flying Tigers, the P40 flew in combat in many theatres of war.
Although dubbed by some as a mediocre performer, its ruggedness and agility earned it popularity with its pilots.
None more so than with the RAF pilots who fought in the middle east and North Africa against Rommel`s Africa Corp.
Our Model depicts an RAF Kittyhawk III,or P40K, which was possibly the best of the Allison engined versions, having an uprated engine and longer fuselage to counteract the extra torque.
The identification letters are from a P40 that was flown from Duxford in the early 1990`s by Ray Hanna, and many coloured photo`s still appear in Warbird publications of this surviving example.
